I wanted to make the flowers stand out even more.  I thought that I boarder of a solid color of clay would work will.  I picked a color that was in some of the canes but not the most common color.  I really like how it looks!

I have done more barrettes like these one but trimmed in different colors.  I have used dark blue and also gold.  I like them all.  I will be doing this again with barrettes.  I like the finished edges that they have.

I got a huge amount of canes off of e-bay.  The person I bought them from was getting rid of the canes that she had bought and never used.  I really like all of them and will be creating more barrettes then these.  I wish that I could acknowledge the makers of each of the canes but I have no idea who made what.  There are some very talented cane makers out there.

I have been having great fun with all of the colorful ends of clay that I have on my work bench.  I am also playing with different shapes as well.  I really like the tear drop shaped beads.  These for beads are done from scrapes of extruded clay from my Makin’ Clay extruder.

This brite pink and purple square is from the scrapes of my “study in color” canes.  I like the little bit of white that is peeking out of the middle of the bead.

This is my first barrette made with kitties done in CF inspired style.

I am please with their looks and the differences in the faces.  They are very enjoyable to do.  (Christi’s books are also wonderful and great fun to read.)  I am planing on making more kitties, and even a few dogs to go with them.  I am going to have fun and will soon have to move my craft room to a farm!

All of these beads are from the same cane ends.  I used different colors as the background.

rainbowswrils.jpgThese rainbow beads are on a pink background.  They are the same size and will end up as a necklace.

storms.jpg These are both on a blue background.  They are both focal beads for necklaces but I not sure how I am going to string them yet.  I really like how the tear drop is shaped.  The round bead looks like a rainbow muted by a thunder storm.
