I have recently gotten a number of questions about barrettes for thicker hair. In my personal exprience, a slightly larger barrette back will hold more hair. With either of these two barrettes, I can put my braided pony tail, folded twice, up on the back of my head. They hold it with no problems and with stand a lot of movement.
The barrette on the left is on a 3 1/2 inch barrette back, so it is a little longer then the barrettes that you find in the local store. The barrette on the right has a wider space between the back of the barrette and the piece that holds the hair in the barrette.
This picture is of the barrettes on the side. It shows the difference in the space in the middle of the barrette.

I currently have five different barrettes the use the larger barrette backs on my website. (To get there formthe blog, click on the link on the left hand side to “My Store”.
The item numbers for them are pv-102 (it is on the front page), mg-450, mg-900, mg-902, mg-903 (all in the Makume Gane catagory).
I do make special orders, if there is a certian one that you would really like.
I will be adding newer barrettes to my website in the next couple of weeks, so keep checking.

Hi I need larger metal barettes that are tortoise shell or natural hair color for military regulations. my hair is 1/2 way down my back. it used to be down to my butt, and i am growing it out again from donating ti to locks of love. i reall need some help. thanks
