I have reading that there have been a number of pasta machine problems recently and even the machines breaking. I have always used the Atlas pasta machine that my husband bought me when I first got into polymer clay a number of years ago. It is a heavy duty machine, not very light to carry or move. The only problem I have is that the handle falls off now and then but it does no damage. I would be leery of a cheap machine that they now sell for claying. They just look like they won’t hold up to the serious amount of use that a clayer may put them through. They may hold up for the weekend crafter though.
The only thing that I do with my Atlas is the run a heavy cloth over the blades to clean excess clay off of them. I know that I can take the machine apart and do a deep cleaning but I have never seen the need. One of these days I might, just to make sure that I can do it.

Helen, you are so right about the so called “Clay Machines” they are making today….. those 10.00- 20.00 machines fall apart in one weekend….. I went thru 3 of them…. Now I am saving for a real good one… the 50.00 machines! Atlas seems to be ther preferred brand but I can t find any.
I need to look online…:-(
